Hey there! I'm Pie, the head admin of this site. If you're looking to join the forum, there are plenty of things you'll need to know to get started. First and foremost, this is a Fairy Tail roleplaying site. This site is an AU (alternate universe) meaning that the only relation to the events that take place in the anime/manga (aka, the canon events) is that we use the same general world. This means that the story in the manga has nothing to do with the story here. A few details are borrowed, such as the existence of Dragon Slayers and Celestial Spirit Mages. Beyond some of these basic details, the plot is completely different.
This is a longhand, stat-based forum. This means that when roleplaying with each other, it is expected that you will send back responses in grammatically correct prose. Responses should generally be at least a couple paragraphs long (the absolute minimum for a paragraph being 100 words). Everyone that roleplays here first has to register a character. Once their character is approved by the staff, they will start off with a number of stat points, similar to a character in Dungeons and Dragons. Unlike Dungeons and Dragons though, the system here is relatively simple. It will be explained in detail later. For now, just keep in mind that the stats determine what your character is capable of. They make it easier for people to agree what their respective characters are capable of, especially relative to each other.
This site is generally considered to be intermediate to advanced level. If you're brand new to longhand roleplaying, it honestly might not be the place for you. I personally expect any post to be a bare minimum of three paragraphs, meaning at least 300 words. A good post should probably be at least six or seven paragraphs. One sentence responses are basically grounds for me to wonder how you finished the application in the first place, and will probably get you banhammered if not done as a joke, or as an out of character post. If any of this bothers you, then you're definitely in the wrong place. If 3+ paragraphs is the norm for you on a post, then you've probably got enough experience to be comfortable here.
That being said, here's a list of the other posts you need to read to get started, listed in the recommended order of reading:
